When the first snow falls, (it usually falls at Silver Star
Mountain), you’ll find the Canadian National Cross Country Team staying at Silver
Star Mountain for more than a month of early season training. They are often accompanied
by the National Biathlon Team, Army Biathlon Team and other teams from around the world.
You will no doubt find some of the best cross country skiing in North America right on
Silver Star Mountain and at the adjacent Sovereign Lake area. 105 kms (65 miles) of varied
trails await you. November is "Cross Country Month" at Silver Star with a long
list of XC activities. |

Becky Scott had a career first World Cup win in the sprints
while Sarah Renner took third place. It was a fairy-tale ending to the World Cup
Races at Sovereign Lake, Dec. 10-11, 2005.
Further to this we saw Scott and Renner take the Silver in the
sprint relay race in Turin and Chandra Crawford rounded things off with a Gold medal in the
individual 1.1k sprints.
